(16.2.2012)Stanislav Rezac (CZE) and Sandra Hansson (SWE) are two well-known names among the elite skiers already registrated for FIS Marathon Cup at Finlandia Ski Marathon in February 25. Last year Rezac was fighting about victory in the 50 km classic event until the final straight at Lahti Ski Stadium where Oskar Svärd (SWE) beat him by tiny marginal. This season 38-year-old Rezac has so far taken two wins at FIS Marathon Cup and been third once. January 18, 2012Already 4 518 skiers have registered for this season’s Finlandia, taking place February 25-26 in Lahti and Hollola. January 18, 2012 Escaping, skiing polar bear is the picture in Finlandia 2012 medals. A Polar bear didn’t come to medals by accident, as its origin dates back to the seventies when Finlandia took its first steps. Finlandia was born when Finland wanted to host a ski marathon like Vasaloppet in neighbor Sweden.
